Worst NBA trades in history?

The Nets-Celtics 2013 trade is the gold standard for failure. Brooklyn gave up three firsts and a swap for the "corpses" of Garnett and Pierce. It literally built the modern Celtics' core of Tatum and Brown while the Nets spent years in the basement.

There have been quite a few bad ones, but the Chris Paul-to-Lakers veto still feels crazy because it changed league history overnight. The Nets trading a haul of picks to the Celtics for aging stars (Pierce and Garnett) is often called one of the worst since it hurt them for years; another one people still mention is the Mavericks letting Steve Nash go, which obviously didn’t age well at all.

Some of the worst NBA trades include the Milwaukee Bucks trading Dirk Nowitzki rights to the Dallas Mavericks, and the Charlotte Hornets dealing Kobe Bryant to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Brooklyn Nets also suffered by trading picks that became stars like Jayson Tatum.
