Why is Test cricket losing popularity?

Test cricket is seeing a decline in popularity, primarily because matches can stretch over five days, which many fans today find a bit too lengthy. In contrast, shorter formats like Twenty20 cricket deliver quicker action and more excitement.
Leagues like the Indian Premier League are also pulling in massive crowds and big bucks, diverting attention from the classic Test matches. Still, there are plenty of enthusiasts who believe that Test cricket represents the most authentic form of the game.
