I’m curious about the ownership of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. The franchise has been associated with a major company for many years.
Can anyone explain who currently owns RCB and how the ownership structure works?

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a team in the Indian Premier League, is owned by United Spirits Limited, which is part of Diageo. Originally, businessman Vijay Mallya purchased the franchise back in 2008, but the ownership later transitioned to United Spirits.

However, due to some financial troubles, the ownership shifted to United Spirits, and they’ve been running the franchise ever since.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) IPL franchise is owned by a consortium headed by the Aditya Birla Group and currently purchased a 100 percent interest in Diageo/United Spirits at an estimated cost of 1.78 billion. Aditya Birla Group, Times of India Group, Bolt Ventures (David Blitzer), and Blackstone are the members of the consortium.
