What are the defense positions in soccer?

I’m trying to learn more about defensive roles in soccer and how each position contributes to stopping attacks. There seem to be different types like center-backs and full-backs with specific responsibilities. Some focus on marking and tackling, while others help in building play from the back. Can someone explain the main defensive positions and their roles?

In soccer, the defense positions consist of center-backs, full-backs (both left and right), and occasionally wing-backs. Center-backs are stationed in the middle to thwart attackers and clear the ball away, while full-backs focus on defending the flanks and can also join in on offensive plays. Wing-backs take on a more aggressive role compared to full-backs, covering the entire side of the field. Their primary job is to stop goals and bolster the team's defense.

In soccer, defense positions mainly consist of center-backs and full-backs, which include both left and right players. Center-backs are tasked with guarding the middle of the field and thwarting attackers, while full-backs focus on defending the flanks and can also join in on the offensive play.

In Football, the key defensive roles include center-backs, full-backs (both left and right), and occasionally wing-backs. Their main job is to thwart attackers, block shots, and safeguard the goal alongside the goalkeeper.

In soccer, defensive positions play a crucial role. Center-backs (CBs) are tasked with halting attackers in the middle of the field, while full-backs, which include left-backs and right-backs, focus on defending the sides and also joining in on offensive plays. Some teams opt for wing-backs, who are essentially more aggressive full-backs, and a sweeper, who hangs back behind the defense to clear any threats.
